A criminal case has been opened on the fact of misappropriation of a large sum of money from citizens under the pretext of employing them in foreign countries, APA reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Based on numerous citizen appeals regarding the illegal actions of officials of Tempo TRIPS LLC and 365 Tourism LLC, an investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General.

Reasonable suspicions have been revealed regarding the illegal appropriation of a large sum of money by officials of these companies by making false promises to numerous citizens who approached them for employment in foreign countries.

A criminal case has been opened under Articles 178.3.2 (fraud committed with the infliction of major damage) and 308.2 (abuse of power resulting in grave consequences).

Over five tons of drugs have been seized from illegal circulation in Azerbaijan in January-August this year, Report informs citing the State Commission for Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

Law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan seized 51 kg of drugs from illegal circulation over the past weekend, Report informs citing the press service of the MIA.

According to the information, during the operations conducted on September 14 and 15 in the country, a total of more than 6.2 kg of heroin, about 34 kg of marijuana, more than 7.3 kg of opium, about 3.1 kg of methamphetamine, and 1,600 methadone tablets were seized.

During an operation conducted by the Gabala District Police Department, suspects in illegal drug trafficking Elnur Mammadov, his relative Samir Asadov and Jasur Huseynov were detained, oxu.az reports with reference to the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 2 kg 300 g of marijuana and methamphetamine were seized from the detainees.
