Strengthening the powers of law enforcement agencies in the fight against climate change will strengthen the fight against environmental crimes, oxu.az reports. This was stated by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, President of COP29 Mukhtar Babayev at the high-level session “Mobilization of law enforcement agencies in the fight against climate change”.

“At COP28, the role of law enforcement agencies was highly appreciated. We intend to continue this direction at COP29. Our mission is clear: the fight against environmental crimes, the impact of climate change on animals and marine life, measures to protect the ecosystem and much more. Without the support of law enforcement agencies, it will be difficult to preserve our natural heritage,” the minister noted.
