Thefts from two objects worth a total of 42,620 manats have been committed in Baku, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thus, the police received information about thefts in the Surakhani district.

As a result of the activities carried out by the police, suspects in the crimes were identified and detained – previously convicted 37-year-old E. Guliyev, 33-year-old F. Niftaliyev and 28-year-old O. Khabibov.

An investigation is underway into these facts.

The work plan of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking for 2025 has been approved and sent for implementation, Report informs with reference to the Commission.

The document was signed by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vilayat Eyvazov, who is also the deputy chairman of the commission.

The plan provides for strengthening measures to combat drug trafficking and drug addiction, increasing the effectiveness of preventive measures and information work.

Law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan have detained members of a transnational organized crime group smuggling drugs from Iran, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Two members of the group have been detained – Iranian citizens 26-year-old Hadi Fasihi and 29-year-old Rza Etai.

They were detained by Yardimli district police officers as part of a special operation. During the searches, 36 kilograms of drugs were seized from the detainees, including heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen for the detainees by a court decision.

Operational activities to detain other members of the group and persons associated with them within the country are ongoing, the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
