Joker from the Supreme Court

At a meeting with the co-rapporteurs of PACE MC on Azerbaijan Joseph Debono Grech and Pedro Agramunt fon de Mora a chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rizayev stated that “the Azerbaijani court system operates in accordance with the European court system.” According to him, in the Supreme Court at regularly scheduled seminars is examined international legal instruments, in particular, the case law of the European Convention “On protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.”“For us the main thing is a human factor. It is carried out specific measures in connection with the National Action Plan for human rights protection in Azerbaijan Republic. We try to make fair decisions which are based on a common practice. The most modern information technologies are used at the court proceedings  “, – said R. Rizayev.
