A number of financial audits were carried out in connection with the misappropriation of state and municipal funds

In 2022, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan carried out comprehensive work to strengthen the fight against offenses in the field of managing state and municipal property and funds, the report news agency reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

During this period, 64 financial audits were carried out with the involvement of employees of the prosecutor’s office, the ministries of finance, defense, science and education, the Chamber of Auditors and the Central Bank.

Payment of 589.537 manats out of 2 million 147 thousand 485 manats of damage caused to the state as a result of illegal actions was provided, arrest was imposed on 9 units of property.

The investigation of 10 criminal cases in the prosecutor’s office has been completed and sent to the relevant courts, compensation for damage has been provided for 32 facts, and the investigation continues for 22 facts.
