Mechanisms to combat illegal money transfer systems to be formed in Azerbaijan

Effective mechanisms will be formed to combat illegal money transfer systems, APA reports. This is reflected in the “National Action Plan for 2023-2025 on combating the legalization of property acquired by criminal means and the financing of terrorism”, approved by today’s order of President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, during March-August 2023, should ensure the preparation, application of the legal and methodological framework for freezing, seizing and confiscation of assets as part of the fight against the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and control.
