Criminal case on misappropriation of public funds sent to court

The Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has completed a preliminary investigation into the offenses revealed at Fizuli Vocational School No. 1, Report news agency reported citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

During the investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that the director of the educational institution Oktay Veliyev, having abused his official duties and committed official forgery, embezzled more than 119 thousand manats of state funds.

O.Veliyev was finally charged under Articles 179.2.3 (appropriation using his official position) and 308.2 (abuse of official powers resulting in grave consequences) and 313 (official forgery).

The criminal case was sent for consideration to the Lankaran Court for Grave Crimes.
