Criminal case initiated against the former head of the municipality

In Khachmaz region, a criminal case has been initiated against the former chairman of the municipality, oxu.az reports citing the district prosecutor’s office.

Thus, in connection with the illegal actions of the former head of the municipality of the village of Chaikenary, an investigation was conducted in the supervisory authority, during which reasonable suspicions arose that Ogtay Shikhmamedov, during his tenure as chairman, by abusing his official powers, caused significant damage to the legitimate interests of the municipality, and deliberately introduced false information into official documents.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated in the district prosecutor’s office under articles 308.1 (abuse of power) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
