A criminal case was initiated against the accountant of the Karabakh Regional Department of Education

The Barda District Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal case on the fact of embezzlement of public funds, Report news agency reported citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The employees of the district prosecutor’s office conducted an investigation into the illegal actions of the accountant of the Karabakh regional education department, Boyukkishi Abbasov. In the course of it, reasonable suspicions were revealed that Boyukkishi Abbasov transferred funds due to employees of secondary schools in the Barda region to his bank card, thereby embezzling state funds totaling more than 114,000 manats.

In fact, a criminal case was initiated in the Barda district prosecutor’s office under article 179.3.2 (large-scale embezzlement) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
