Smuggling of more than 20 kg of drugs prevented

As part of measures to combat drug trafficking, servicemen of the Goytepe and Horadiz border detachments of the State Border Service (SBS) prevented the smuggling of more than 21 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports citing the SBS press center.

So, on May 4, 2023, at about 06:30, two bags of drugs with a total weight of more than 15.5 kg (14 kg 906 g of marijuana, 676 g of heroin, 280 g of methamphetamine) were found and seized on the service territory of the frontier post of the “Geytepe” detachment. and 1,500 Methadone M-40 tablets.

As a result of border operational-search activities carried out on May 5 at 20:30 on the service territory of the Horadiz border detachment, a package with more than 5.5 kg of marijuana was found and seized.

Based on these facts, operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
