Number of divorce cases closed without trial revealed

“This year, the cases of 700 families who filed for divorce were closed without trial.” Report informs, Chairman of the Board of the Mediation Council Nadir Adilov said at the conference “The current situation in the field of application of family law in connection with the dissolution of marriage.”

According to him, sometimes some of the divorcees do not attend mediation later, because the parties refuse to go to court: “As part of mediation, meetings are held with both parties and separately with each of the parties. After these meetings, some change their minds about divorcing, and we close these cases until they go to court.”

This year, the number of such cases amounted to 700, they were not brought to court. This may seem like a small indicator, but 300 mediators and the same number of lawyers are behind this process,” N. Adilov emphasized.
