The State Border Service prevented drug smuggling

On May 24, 2023, at 11:55 a.m., drug smuggling from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan was stopped at the service station of the Goytepe border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service, APA reports quoting the press center of the State Border Service.

Thus, during the operational-search activities, residents of the village of Zevin, Yardimli district, Shirbekov Shamo Faig oglu and Shirbeyli Ilyas Rahib oglu, were detained for attempting to smuggle drugs, 13 kg of drugs (11 kg of marijuana, 2 kg of methamphetamine) were found and seized at the scene.

Operational-search activities in fact continue.
