Drugs worth about 700,000 manats seized

During a special operation, employees of the Balakan District Police Department detained 19 people who organized a plantation of narcotic plants and sold narcotic substances in their household plots, reports oxu.az with reference to the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The police received operational information that a resident of the district, Muhammad Abdullayev, grows hemp in the yard of his house. When examining his house and land, 350 hemp bushes with a total weight of 248 kg were found and seized, as well as more than 2 kg of marijuana.

The cost of drugs, which M. Abdullayev planned to sell on the “black market”, is about 700 thousand manats.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
