Officials of the Baku Transport Agency arrested

As a result of the operational-search activities carried out on the illegal actions of officials of the public legal entity “Baku Transport Agency”, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan.

According to the information, the investigation established reasonable suspicions that Vugar Huseynov, deputy head of the traffic management department, working in this position, in collusion with the adviser of the said structure, Hikmet Velizade, in June-July 2023 in exchange for carrying out appropriate procedures for organizing parking spaces on the territory Baku city received from various persons funds in the amount of 16,500 manats.

V. Huseynov and H. Velizadeh were charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of power), 311.3.1, 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 (taking a large bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By a court decision, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against them.

Operational and investigative measures to bring to justice other persons involved in the commission of unlawful acts continue.
