19 kg of drugs seized from drug couriers

Police officers prevented the illegal circulation of 19 kg of drugs smuggled from Iran, oxu.az reports with reference to the Lankaran regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thus, during the operation carried out by the employees of the Bilasuvar District Police Department on the section of the Alyat-Astara highway passing through the district, residents of the Astara district Elchin Abilov, Orkhan Gambarov and Elshan Babayev were detained, who organized illegal drug trafficking. A total of 17 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, including 4 kg of heroin, 3 kg of methamphetamine and 10 kg of opium, were found and seized from them.

As a result of another operational event carried out by the employees of the RUP, Kanan Alizade, a previously convicted resident of the city of Baku, was detained. He was found and seized about two kilograms of methamphetamine. During the investigation, it was found that the detainees were engaged in the courier transportation of drugs through drug dealers living in Iran.
