Chairman of housing construction cooperative accused of destroying property of citizens arrested

The chairman of a housing construction cooperative has been arrested in Baku on charges of destroying citizens’ property, Report informs citing the Narimanov district prosecutor’s office.

Ali Mammadov, the arrested chairman of the housing cooperative East Residence, is accused of deliberately destroying and damaging the property of citizens during construction and installation work on the territory of the Narimanov district of the capital, the prosecutor’s office noted.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact, and the investigation is ongoing. Charges have been brought against Mammadov under Articles 186.3 (intentional destruction or damage of property causing particularly large damage) and 308.2 (abuse of power resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

By a court decision, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against Mammadov.
