Police conducted an operation, detained 9 people

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Service of Azerbaijan conducted a joint operation in the Balakan region, hemp plantations, a large amount of drugs and firearms were discovered, Report informs, citing the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the operation, carried out in the mountain-forest massif of the Balakyan region, 9 people were detained, one of whom was on the international wanted list.

568 hemp bushes weighing about 350 kg were seized from the plantation. The detainees, in turn, were seized a large amount of narcotic drugs and 8 firearms, including 1 Kalashnikov machine gun, 290 cartridges and 4 hand grenades.

One of the detainees, Vusal Omarov, was on the international wanted list. An investigation into the fact is ongoing at the police department of the Balakan region.
