82 people detained in Binagadi district of Baku in connection with drug trafficking

In the course of operations carried out in August in the Binagadi district of Baku, 82 people involved in drug trafficking were detained, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The detainees were found to have 30 kilograms of narcotic substances (heroin, marijuana and the psychotropic substance methamphetamine).

During the investigation, it was established that among the detainees there are persons previously convicted of organizing drug trafficking. Some of the detainees stated that they purchased drugs on social networks from Iranian citizens with whom they had not previously met, and intended to resell drugs via the Internet. Based on the revealed facts, an investigation is underway in the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
