Internet scammer detained

The police received numerous appeals regarding the “divorce” of citizens for money with seductive ads posted on the TikTok social network under the names “fortune-telling”, “clairvoyance”, “change of fate”, etc., reports oxu.az with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Fuad Mammadov (born 1985), suspected of Internet fraud, was detained by the Sumgayit city police department. During the investigation, it became known that F. Mammadov presented himself as a “clairvoyant” in social networks and confiscated various amounts of money from citizens. Later, in order to avoid responsibility, he blocked the pages of people from whom he fraudulently took money from social networks.

On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the Sumgayit State Unitary Enterprise under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and the investigation is ongoing.
