4 kg of heroin seized from illicit trafficking

Employees of the Khazar district police department during the operational-search activities detained the previously convicted Jeyhun Huseynov (born 1997) and Zakir Akhmedov (born 1979), suspected of drug trafficking, oxu.az reports citing the press – service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. More than 4 kg of heroin were confiscated from them. The detainees admitted in their testimony that they had purchased drugs from an Iranian citizen, whom they met on social networks, with the aim of selling them in the capital.

In the course of other operations carried out by employees of the department in August, 55 facts of drug trafficking in the region and nine facts of organizing their sale were revealed.

In connection with these circumstances, 61 people were detained, against whom a criminal case was initiated under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In total, 8 kg of heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine were found in their possession.
