An attempt to illegally cross the border from Iran was prevented

Employees of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan detained border violators near the city of Astara, Report informs citing the State Border Service. According to the information, the border violators were detained on September 5, 2023 at 06:30 in the service area of the border outpost of the Lankaran border detachment.

They turned out to be citizens of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Azhar Nukhtar, born in 1997, and Sardar Vali Samsur, born in 2003. During the investigation, it was established that the detainees planned to subsequently move from Azerbaijan to European countries.

A criminal case has been opened into the matter, and the necessary operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
