Drug couriers detained

Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Lankaran carried out an operation, as a result of which more than 14 kg of drugs were seized from illegal trafficking, haqqin.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is noted that previously convicted under various articles of the Criminal Code (332.2.1, 332.2.3, 152.1) Vugar Suleymanov (born in 2002) and Akhmed Umerov (born in 1998), more than 1 kg of heroin, 13 kg 300 g of dried marijuana were found and one cutting object.

One of the detainees tried to injure a police officer and flee the scene. This attempt was foiled and both suspects were detained. During the investigation, it turned out that Suleymanov and Umerov received drugs through a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, known by the nickname Əmi (“Uncle”), for the purpose of trafficking and distribution of drugs to individuals from Lankaran to the capital.

Operational search and investigative measures in this case continue.
