Electronic Security Service warns citizens about fake Azerpost accounts

Cases of fraud on behalf of Azerpost LLC continue to be recorded, Trend reports with reference to the Electronic Security Service of Azerbaijan.

“A fake Azerpost page has been created on social networks, which states that “parcels lost or remaining in the warehouse for more than 6 months are put up for sale at a symbolic price of 2.28 manat.” The publication promises citizens large gifts for a small amount and asks them to follow a link to place an order.

The Electronic Security Service recommends that citizens be vigilant in such situations, under no circumstances trust such messages and do not follow links that ask for bank card details. It should be noted that Azerpost never puts abandoned parcels up for sale.

If you receive suspicious messages and notifications from Azerpost, we ask citizens to immediately clarify the information through the 169 call center, as well as through social media accounts,” the statement says.
