Former official appears in court for large-scale fraud

The first preparatory court hearing was held in the criminal case of the former head of the Kurdakhani municipal department, Muhammad Agakishiev, oxu.az reports. At the hearing, chaired by the judge of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, Farid Namazov, the personal data of the accused were clarified.

The court upheld the non-custodial measure of restraint against Agakishiev, accused under Article 178.3.2 (fraud committed with causing large-scale damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The case was referred for further judicial consideration.

According to the investigation, Muhammad Agakishiev embezzled 186 thousand manats from five people, two of whom were veterans, under the pretext of selling them land plots in the Nardaran settlement of the Sabunchu district.
