Religion is good for health

A research made by the University of Missouri (USA), found that religious people are calmer and balanced than atheists and agnostics. It does not matter what religion a person follows.The mere recognition of  existence of supreme divine power remarkably effect on mental and physical health. Participation in a religious life of the community has even greater impact on health. This creates a sense of belonging to a select circle of associates and increases resistance to stress.

Scientists have found that religious people recover from serious diseases is much easier and faster than those of the unbelievers. The higher level of spiritual development of a patient and his involvement in religious activities is the lower his anxiety.If we take into account that the emotional stability is one of conditions for recovery from illness, the believers are in a better position than atheists, reports a website of the university.
