Compensation for bad investigation can go bankrupt of Azerbaijan

London police agreed to pay a woman compensation for bad investigation of her statement, writes BBC News. In connection with the rape, woman addressed to Scotland Yard in 2005, when she was 15. During the investigation, police lost evidence and failed to prove guilt of the alleged offender.

Now Scotland Yard admitted its shortcomings, will pay a woman almost 15 thousand pounds (24.2 thousand dollars). The amount of compensation was agreed by the parties out of court.

All the experts, regardless of political affiliation, strongly oppose this practice in Azerbaijan, saying that under the current level of judicial activity, it is capable of bankrupting the state.
