Drug smuggling prevented

As a result of the joint operations conducted by the State Border Service (SBS) and Interior Ministry, smuggling of a large amount of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented, SBS press service told APA.

10.8 kilos of drugs was seized during the operations.

As a result of preventive measures conducted on November 17.5 kg of opium and 5.8 kg of marijuana that were smuggled to Azerbaijan through the frontier post in Deleli village of Jalilabad region were withdrawn from circulation.

The investigation is underway on the fact.
