The police detained a suspect in the robbery of a payment terminal in one of the stores in the Yasamal district of Baku, oxu.az reports, citing information disseminated by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is reported that an unknown man, wearing a black mask, broke into the store’s door at night and stole money from the payment terminal located inside. The crime was recorded by CCTV cameras.

As a suspect, officers of the 29th police department of the Yasamal district police department detained Turkhan Mustafayev (born 1996), previously convicted of theft.

An investigation into this fact is underway

A man put on the wanted list in Azerbaijan was detained in Russia, Report informs. The detainee is Emin Yusufov (born 1978), against whom the Azerbaijani courts chose a preventive measure in absentia in the form of arrest. He was charged under Articles 178 (fraud) and 320 (production of false documents) of the Criminal Code.

Currently, measures are being taken to extradite him to Azerbaijan.

A special working group to combat cybercrime will be formed in Azerbaijan, which will include employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and local banks, Report informs citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The corresponding decision was made at a working meeting organized jointly by the Main Directorate, the Central Bank and the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan. It is created in order to jointly combat cyber thefts, promptly respond to incidents and carry out preventive measures.

Speakers at the meeting spoke about the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation between law enforcement agencies, banking and financial organizations in order to timely prevent cyber theft and cyber fraud.
