Drug trafficking prevented in Baku

Three persons engaging in illicit drug trafficking have been detained in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, police told APA.

In a series of search operations, the Drug Enforcement Department has found and seized more than 19kg marihuana from Guba district resident Marhamat Sadirov (1993), Baku resident Nahid Hasanov (1987), and formerly imprisoned Baku resident Rashad Azimov (1983).

Further investigations discovered that they had also stolen a bicycle from Baku resident Zaur Aslanov’s house in Shuvalan town on January 8, and an antic samovar, a copper tray, an ash tray, two daggers, clothes and various electronic household items from the same house on January 9. The stolen items were taken as material evidence.
