Court hearings starts over former minister

On 8 June 2016 Military Court of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (Azerbaijan) started a trial on the case of the former minister of national security of Nakhchivan Vali Asgarov, who was arrested on charges of abuse of power, embezzlement of state property and other crimes, lawyer Bugar Khasayev told APA.

A while ago he was released from prison and placed under house arrest. Then a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.

He has been national security minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 15 years.
