Verdict to robbers

On 15 September 2016 the Baku Court of Grave Crimes completed the trial of those accused of robbing the house of Boris Simanduyev, former chairman of the Mountain Jews religious community in Azerbaijan.

The court sentenced the accused – Khalid Seyidov to 12 years, Eldar Avadyayev to 14 years and Joshgun Aliyev to 14.5 years in prison.  

According to information, Eldar Avadyayev had made preliminary arrangement with Khalid Seyidov and Joshqun Aliyev on 6 December 2014 in order to seize the large amount of property of Boris Simanduyev, resident of Krasnaya Sloboda (Red village).

When raiding the house, they beat the house’s owner and his sister Liza Simanduyev, who showed resistance and was thus stabbed by the raiders.

He smashed the safe, which was in the kitchen, and took 395,000 dollar, 91,600 manats, 28,000 rubles, and various jewelries.
