Police operation in Baku’s Nardaran

In order to find and seize firearms, explosives and ammunition illegally stored in certain people, another special operation was conducted by law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan in Baku’s Nardaran settlement, the Interior Ministry told APA on November 2, 2016.

In result of operation one people, who was previously convicted, Nardaran resident Orkhan Gasimov was detained as a suspected.

Gasimov was searched and 0.810 grams of heroin were found during the search.

Moreover, 23 grenade detonators, 3 Makarov pistols, 2 fuse grenades, 2 knives, and 16 wicks hidden by Gasimov near the fence on Absheron street in Nardaran were found and seized. 

A criminal case has been initiated on the incident.

The Interior Ministry once again warns that illegally stored firearms, ammunition and explosives must be surrendered to law-enforcement authorities.  

People will not be prosecuted for the voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition.
