Oligarch Dunyamin Khalilov sentenced to 13 years in prison

Former deputy and credit oligarch Dunyamin Khalilov has been sentenced to 13 years in prison, haqqin.az reports from the courtroom.

Recall that the prosecutor was asking for Dunyamin Khalilov 14 years in prison.

It should be noted that Dunyamin Khalilov was arrested in the context of a high-profile case of so-called ‘credit oligarchs.’ The former deputy is charged with misappropriation of funds, abuse of official powers, evasion of taxes and other economic crimes.

Khalilov owned a large business, the most famous of which was the Globus Plaza shopping centre.

Khalilov is a relative of the ex-head of the International Bank Jahangir Hajiyev, with the mediation of whom he received tens of millions of dollars as a loan. The money was subsequently misappropriated.
