Members of the international drug network detained: more than 100 kg of drugs seized

Over the past 10 days, employees of the Main Department for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan seized 127 kg of narcotic substances from illegal circulation, arrested 31 people, oxu.az reports.

44 kg of narcotic substances (31 kg of heroin, 10 kg of opium, 3 kg of marijuana, 1,480 tablets of a psychotropic substance – pregabalin) were found and confiscated from previously convicted residents of the Beylagan region, Ramil Hasanov, Muzaffar Rustamzade and Zaur Imanov, in the territory of the village of Boyuk Bahmanly of the Fuzuli region. .

As a result of the raids, Hidayat Mammadov was detained in the Sabirabad region, and Orkhan Nagiyev, who sent him a large batch of drugs, was detained in the Binagadi region. 35 kg of narcotic substances (21 kg of heroin, 10 kg of methamphetamine, 4 kg of marijuana) and electronic scales were confiscated from them.

Royal Rahimov and previously convicted Suraj Karimli were detained in the Garadagh region. 22 kg of narcotic substances (12 kg of heroin and more than 10 kg of methamphetamine) were confiscated from them.

The above seven people were part of an international drug network.

Also, employees of the Main Department detained 16 people in the Absheron region, from whom they confiscated 19 kg of drugs.

In the city of Lankaran and the Astara region, 8 people involved in the sale of narcotic substances were detained during operations. 7 kg of narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs were confiscated from them.

Criminal cases have been opened on all the facts under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, investigative and operational activities are ongoing.
