Drug smuggling suppressed

Employees of the State Border Service (SBS) prevented the smuggling of narcotic substances across the state border of Azerbaijan, haqqin.az reports citing the press-service of the State Boarder Service.

On January 22, 2022, on the official territory of the Horadiz border detachment near the Shikhalyagaly village, Jabrayil region, an attempt by Iran to violate the state border was suppressed by a border detachment.

According to the information, the border guards detained two border violators, one of whom managed to escape. Iranian citizen Asadli Ali Khudaverdi, born in 1985, was detained at the scene. During the search at the place of detention, narcotic drugs and psychotropic pills with a total weight of 29 kg 925 g (16200 g of marijuana, 7444 g of heroin, 3545 g of methamphetamine, 440 g of teriyak and 1680 units of methadone-40) were found and seized in two packages.

In fact, operational and investigative actions are ongoing.
