Former artistic director of orchestra convicted

The trial on the criminal case of the former artistic director of the State Wind Instruments Orchestra Lutfi Gadirov accused of bribery has completed, APA reports.

The judgement was read at the trial in the Baku Grave Crimes Court. By the decision of the court, L. Gadirov was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

APA notes that a criminal case was initiated at the General Anti-Corruption Department on suspicion that Lutfi Gadirov, who worked as the artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Wind Instruments Orchestra in 2010-2020, took large bribes from employees subordinate to him for patronage and neglect of his official duties. obligations in their favor.

The investigation established that Lutfi Gadirov, having entered into a criminal relationship with other officials whose identity is being established by the investigation, used corruption schemes corresponding to their joint illegal intentions. Gadirov took bribes from individuals holding various positions in the orchestra, in total, in the amount of more than 54,000 manats, which is 85-90 percent of the wages transferred to the plastic cards of these employees, in exchange for accruing seniority and not stopping them employment contracts, despite the fact that in the period from January 2017 to July 2020, these people did not go to work and did not perform labor functions.

For these illegal actions, Lutfi Gadirov was charged under Art. 311.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, by the decision of the Binagadi district court, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for 4 months was chosen against him.
