Former head of Executive Power sentenced to 4 years in prison

The trial on the criminal case of the former head of the Nizami District Executive Power of Ganja city Maharat Mustafayev, the former head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Executive Power of Ganja city Ali Rustamov and Razin Gakhramanov has completed, APA reports.

At the trial in the Ganja Court for Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Nural Aliyev, the judgement was read out. By a court decision, M. Mustafayev and A. Rustamov were sentenced to 4 years in prison. R. Gahramanov, who was placed under police supervision as an accused in a criminal case, was fined 10,000 manats.

APA notes that earlier the prosecutor requested 6 years for M. Mustafayev and A. Rustamov, and 5 years for R. Gakhramanov.

The defendants were arrested in the course of an operation carried out by the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General, they were charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of official powers that entailed grave consequences), 311.3 (receiving a large bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement or by an organized group ), 312.2 (giving a bribe to an official for committing obviously illegal actions), 178.2 (fraud causing significant damage by a person using his official position) and under other articles of the Criminal Code.
