A criminal case was filed to court against officials of the regional structure of the Ministry of Labor

The criminal case against officials of the Masalli district branch of the State Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been sent to court, oxu.az reports.

The Main Department for Combating to Corruption under the Prosecutor General has completed the investigation of a criminal case initiated on the basis of an appeal from the ministry itself in connection with the violations identified in this department of the state fund.

Thus, the investigation had reasonable suspicions that the former head of the social assistance and benefits sector of the district branch, Rovshan Khazarkhanova, in collusion with Malik Aliguseinov and Shaig Mukhtarli, who worked as the chief adviser and adviser, embezzled 14,490 manats during 2017-2020, contributing to official documents false information, as well as that they, improperly fulfilling their official duties, showing negligence, caused significant damage to the legally protected interests of the state in the amount of 122,000 manats.

R. Khazarkhanov and other specified persons were charged under Articles 179.2.1 (misappropriation or embezzlement by a group of persons by prior agreement), 179.2.3 (appropriation or embezzlement by a person using his official position), 179.2.4 (appropriation or embezzlement causing significant damage), 308.1 (abuse of power), 313 (forgery) and 314.2 (negligence resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the investigation, the damage caused was partially compensated.
