An identity of the man who committed the murder 18 years ago has been established

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office have released joint information about the murder that took place in Azerbaijan 18 years ago, APA reports.

The information says that upon discovery 18 years ago – on April 26, 2004, in the house of the territory of the Yasamal district of Baku, the bodies of Rahila Jalilova, born in 1947 and her granddaughter Aygun Azizova, born in 1989, a criminal case was initiated under article 120.2.7 (murder of two or more persons).

During the investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that the murder was committed by Anar Agalarov, a resident of Baku, convicted under article 234.1 of the Criminal Code and undergoing treatment at a specialized treatment center of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.

Agalarov admitted that he committed the crime together with his cousin Teymur Mammadov.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
