Thieves detained

A theft was committed in one of the meat-packing plants located in the Absheron region, APA reports quoting the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.

Magomed Yasharly, Haji Mammadov, Nijat Aleskerov, Seyran Sariyev, Sarkhan Suleymanzade, Orkhan Ibrahimov and Jalal were detained on suspicion of stealing more than 80 tons of meat as a result of operational-search activities carried out by employees of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Absheron District Police Department. As a result of another operation carried out by the employees of the Main Department and the Absheron District Police Department, residents of the Absheron region Jeyhun Akhmedov and Abbasgulu Namazov were detained on suspicion of stealing a safe in one of the offices, in which there were 10 thousand manats and a hunting rifle of the Winchester brand. The detainees reported that they had broken into a safe in the village of Mehdiabad and divided the money in it among themselves. The stolen hunting rifle was found in J. Ahmedov’s house and confiscated.

Criminal cases have been initiated on the facts in the Absheron District Police Department, and investigative measures are ongoing.
