The importation of a large consignment of cigarettes into the country is prevented

On April 13, 2022, employees of the outpost of the Goytepe border detachment near the village of Avash, Yardimli district, prevented the illegal import of a large batch of tobacco products into Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports with reference to the press center of the State Border Service (SBS).

On the basis of the received signal about the violation of the state border, the border outpost was raised at the command “In the gun.”

Despite the demand of the border guards to stop, four offenders, crossing the territory of the AR from the side of the Islamic Republic of Iran, threw the smuggled goods and, using the terrain, fled in the opposite direction.

During the inspection of the seven bags left behind, 8,380 packs of cigarettes were found and seized.

The matter is under investigation.
