Police detained gang members

Members of an organized group involved in the sale of drugs, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as those suspected of committing theft and extortion, were detained in the village of Bina in the Khazar region, reports the information Internet portal report.az with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.

Thus, as a result of an operation carried out by employees of the threat department and the 3rd police department of the Khazar district police department, in the territory called “Syudchyulyuk state farm” in the village of Bina, a previously convicted resident of Lankaran Anar Ismailov and members of the group he leads – Etibar Guliyev, Jeyhun Ahadzade, Elvin Hajiyev, Hamid Ismayilov and Sanan Takhirov and taken to the police department.

During a search in the house of A. Ismailov, 1 kg of heroin intended for sale, 1 F-1 hand grenade, 1 Lancaster rifle, 1 Makarov pistol and 25 cartridges were found. Other detainees were found to have various drugs.

During the investigation, it was found that members of the group committed numerous thefts in the Khazar, Surakhani and other districts of the capital. In addition, on behalf of A.Ismailov, members of the group were engaged in extorting money from persons involved in trade.

The materials collected in the 3rd police department in relation to the detainees were transferred to the Investigation Department of the Khazar RUP. A.Ismayilov and members of the group have been prosecuted under a number of articles of the Criminal Code. In relation to each of them, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was applied by a court decision. Investigations are ongoing to establish other criminal connections of the detainees.
