The public prosecutor petitioned for 13 years in prison for William Hajiyev with confiscation of property

The public prosecutor petitioned the court to sentence the former head of the Imishli District Executive Power (EW) William Hajiyev to 13 years in prison, oxu.az reports.

The prosecutor also asked to confiscate in favor of the state the property and funds of W. Hajiyev for 6,300,000 manats.

The next court hearing is scheduled for July 8, 2022.

V. Hajiyev was arrested in May 2020 as a result of an operation carried out by the State Security Service (SSS).

On the basis of the materials collected by the investigating body, the ex-head of the Executive Power was charged under Articles 179.3.2 (large-scale misappropriation or embezzlement), 308.1 (abuse of official powers), 311.3.3 (bribery (passive bribery) committed on a large scale ) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
