Criminal case on murder of world champion in Baku filed to court

The Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan has completed a preliminary investigation of the criminal case on the fact of the premeditated murder of Zaur Ali oglu Yusifov, born in 1984, on March 14, 2022, in the Qardashlar store in the Binagadi district of Baku, trend.az reports citing the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office.

It is noted that during the preliminary investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that Shiraliyev Samir Farhad oglu, born in 2000, committed the deliberate murder of world kickboxing champion Zaur Yusifov, who is suspected of killing his cousin Emin Safarov, nicknamed “Emin 444” in 2019 .

Based on the collected evidence, Samir Shiraliyev was charged under articles 120.2.4 (murder with special cruelty or in a generally dangerous way) and 228.4 (illegal acquisition, sale or carrying of weapons) of the Criminal Code. The criminal case on the fact of the murder was sent to the Baku Court for Grave Crimes.
