Theft suspect detained

A suspect in large-scale thefts has been detained in Baku, oxu.az reports.

Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Police Department of Baku city and the 25th station of the Nizami District Police Department detained a previously convicted native of Saatli district E. Jafarov, suspected of stealing money and gold jewelry in one of the houses.

It was also established that he had previously robbed four more houses, embezzling a total of $23,000, 700 manats and 81,000 manats worth of gold jewelry and a laptop.

The matter is under investigation.
