Counterfeiters detained

In the Sabunchi district of Baku, 8 members of 3 gangs were detained, who produced and put into circulation counterfeit money, and also committed a series of thefts from about 40 houses. As a result of the operation carried out by employees of the Sabunchu district police department and the 15th police department, persons suspected of trafficking in counterfeit money were detained, 1 news.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It is reported that the police received information that a woman who made a purchase at one of the markets in the village of Zabrat paid with counterfeit banknotes – as a result of the operation, this woman was identified and detained, she turned out to be Rena Suleymanova.

During the investigation, the head of the gang, Ismail Guliyev, his acquaintances Valeh Novruzov and Elnara Isayeva, who were suspected of making and issuing counterfeit money into circulation, were detained and taken to the police station. During the inspection of the house where I. Guliyev lived in the Nizami district, 247 counterfeit banknotes were found and seized.
