Drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

On August 11, 2022, at 01:05 am, at the service area of ​​the frontier post of the “Horadiz” frontier detachment of the State Border Service (SBS), near the village of Ahmadli in the Beylagan region, the frontier guard detected a violation of the state border by an unknown person from the side of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports citing to the press center of the State Border Service.

It is reported that the border violator ignored the command to stop and a warning shot in the air fired by the border detachment and, taking advantage of the darkness, threw the bundle he was holding on the ground and fled back to Iranian territory.

As a result of the search work carried out on the ground, a bundle with 21 kg and 900 g of drugs was found and seized.
