Operation in Mingachevir: drug traffickers detained

Employees of the Mingachevir city police department detained and brought to justice six suspects of drug trafficking, oxu.az reports citing the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Based on the operational information received, a local resident, previously convicted Rahim Rahimov, was detained. Heroin and methamphetamine, which he kept for the purpose of sale, were found on him and in his house. In his testimony, the detainee admitted that he purchased drugs online from a foreign drug dealer, whom he met on the social network.

As a result of regular operations, five more people were detained – Parvin Abbasov, Tural Mahmudov, Allahverdi Hamidov, Elkhan Hajiyev and Elton Kerimov, previously convicted of a similar crime. During a personal search, various types of hard drugs were seized from them.

According to the facts, criminal cases have been initiated in the police department, and an investigation is underway.
