The former minister compensated damages to the state in the amount of 20 million

A criminal investigation has been launched against former Minister of Labor and Social Protection Salim Muslimov, APA reports.

On August 15, 2022, the indictment was read out at the Baku Grave Crimes Court chaired by Judge Faig Ganiev. The accusation states that Salim Muslimov, during his work as Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, committed numerous abuses in the organization of the rehabilitation and social protection of the disabled and children with disabilities, as well as in the exercise of other powers. He also abused his official powers, embezzling part of the money allocated for houses built to improve the social and living conditions of families of martyrs and war invalids in various regions.

In general, to date, Salim Muslimov has paid the state 20 out of 27 million manats in connection with the criminal case. The property of the ex-minister in the amount of 8 million manats was also seized.

The next meeting will be held on August 29, 2022.

Salim Muslimov was arrested as a result of a special operation carried out by the State Security Service.

The former minister was prosecuted as a defendant under Articles 308.2 (abuse of power with grave consequences), 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 of the Criminal Code (repeated bribery on a large scale), a preventive measure in the form of arrest.

He was later placed under house arrest due to health problems.
