Border guards prevent smuggling of drugs and tobacco products

Employees of the State Border Service and the State Customs Committee prevented the smuggling of narcotic drugs and tobacco products from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

On August 23, 2022 at 23:10, employees of the Astara Border Control Department and the Southern Territorial General Administration of Customs during a joint inspection of the Dong-Feng truck (38-D-43910), driven by Iranian citizen Babaei Kusalari Sadegh Samad ( 1981) found and seized 15 kg 64 grams of narcotic substances (4085 grams of methamphetamine, 7800 grams of heroin, 2129 grams of opium, 1050 grams of marijuana) and 920 packs of Kent brand cigarettes.

The fact is being investigated.
